Hello folks,
Dah berapa hari asyik dok hujan. And yesterday when it started raining at about 4.30pm, i knew that i would not be able to beat the mad traffic, and so i decided to rush to 1 Utama from my office in Phileo Damansara instead of going home.
Luckily my hubby is a very loving understanding person, he gave me the OK for me to pursue my plan. Lucky me!!!
Since my favourite priority parking has been converted to parking for 1 card members its been cumbersome, troublesome for me to get a parking space there. I have to get the 1 card. I am a very loyal 1 Utama customer, i should get privilege parking for FREE.
Hmm..let me try to recall: I actually wanted to get a Baby T-shirt for my self, i have very few now -yang lama dah boring dah bagi org dah -i only have a Tommy Hilfiger, a Guess, a Seven, an Esprit , some ZARAs, some Polos and a La Senza - and nothing else.. mana pegi t-shirt aku banyak2 dulu ah??? I have been concentrating on office wear, handbag and shoes that i have neglected casual wear (is that the case???)
I first got a yellow cute little floral print blouse from Miss Selfridge. I thot it was such an overpriced blouse (for RM176) but i had to get it. It was a perfect fit....sits very nicely..Nak jugak and i added a set of wooden bangle i think it was RM46 to get myself the Fashion Fast Forward card. I dunno why i was never interested to get this card, probably coz i dont shop much here or Topshop, and only now manged to add this card to my string of privilege card/ reward card/discount card ha..ha.. Plus normally i use Vic's or my bro's card je.
After Miss Selfridge, i headed to Diva for new accessories..and got myself the cateyes set-necklace and earrings and a pair of earrings which were on sale for only RM6 (murahnya)...
Hmm after that pergi ke British India sale (nothing nice, all over priced clothes which have gone on sale). And GAP (also nothing nice)... Went to Armani Exchange, DKNY, Guess, French Connection in search of my baby-t but found nothing that suited me... oh well not my luck kot today. Kat ZARA terjumpa a pair of peep toe shoes in white ( cantikkk) tapi i tak beli, i dah beli banyak kasut la this month..maybe next trip...
I saw new stocks arrived kat Nine West, so Nine West fans, watch out for new Spring collection.
Went to U Parkson- Stila counter... was in the mood for make up shopping!!! They had an interesting limited edition collection for spring in brown shades, since i have got plenty of browns, so i decided on individual colors for smoky eyes look (i have been a fan of smoky eyes look since its intro few seasons back!!) I got myself 3 eye shades in twilight, moonlight and pewter and a blusher in blush (new shade).
Also bought the petal infusions cleanser and a 2 in 1-black eyeliner and mascara. Oh, i got a FREE bag and note book from Stila. And had my eyebrows trimmed there. The natural look. Enough..enough...
And lucky me, it was the Bonuslink card members day, got myself some vouchers which i can use to buy some bras from Wacoal some other day.
By the time i was done at those places it was already 8.15pm. Wow....and i was already feeling hungry. Headed to Kluang station for some light dinner. They just introduced some new dishes-chicken porride and fish fritters. I decided to try the fish fritter with wedges, not bad for a kopitiam, small portion, not too filling, just right for me. Its actually a kid's meal rupenya...
I dunno why some people rasa shopping sorang2 is a BIG NO. For me i enjoy it, it's a time for myself, i can try whatever i want for as long as i want and don't have to put my dear hubby through the torture. Some people semua kena tunggu hubby....tersangat la dependent...) before going home i took away some cakes from Bakerzin (divine and sinfully delicious cakes...)
Also i made an effort to apply for the 1 card. I must have my privilege parking!!! Oh well, that's all for now folks...work is piling up on my table, got to get some work done now!!!

Perlis Trip - Wedding of Rostami & Zinnia Part II
|
|
Last week was such a busy week. I was busy with both work and business. No time to update. That's why i was missing...
My personal tailor almost gave me a heart attack, when i callled her on Thursday to pick up my clothes, she said to come on Saturday. I was like..WHAT???? "I told u i want to pick up on Thursday coz i'm going to Perlis on Friday!" , she forgot and asked me to come on Friday morning. I thot dia nak cakap tak boleh ready at all, and i have to get something else to wear. Last week i spent more than RM500 at Tribeca for the wedding in Gombak, don't tell me i have to fork out that kind of money again this week and at the last hour pulak tu...angin betul la!!!
Friday after completing my many tasks, i finally got to my tailor at around 12.30 - Thank god, my clothes sempat siap. 2 pasang pulak tu. So now, i have a choice between baju kurung modern and a kebaya. Yeay!! I brought both to Perlis (undecided me). Come to think of it, weddings are so expensive to attend. The cost of a pair of baju kurung is already close to RM500 (with all the beadings). Kalau everyweek ada wedding invite....boleh pengsan my hubby...
We started our journey from Ara Damansara at around 3.45pm. Made a few stops at the R&R and finally reached Gurney Drive in Penang at 7pm. Actually we stopped in Penang for our favourite Rojak Pasembur Dah lama idam nak makan. Yummy...sedappp....
After dinner, continued our long journey to Perlis and finally reached Arau at 11pm (lambat sikit-coz tak biasa, ikut jalan jauh). We checked into this terrace house that was rented by my hubby's uncle (Acu). After all, this is the wedding of Acu's youngest brother-in-law.
The following day (Saturday), we decided to check into a different hotel..Sorry Acu- but that terrace u booked gave us goosebumps...tak sesuai la (malas nak komplen byk) Actually if i had my way, i would have checked into Putra Palace, but my hubby wanted to be close to his Acu in Arau, and we trusted his Acu to book the accommodation for us.
I decided on my pink kurung modern with my Zara heels. Searched for a salon to do my hair, but none was open. So i had to do my hair on my own, that's how i ended up with the less than average hair..
By noon, we reached Dewan Sivik Arau for the wedding. Fuh..luckily sampai awal, ramai gila orang after 1pm. The wedding food was great, sedap. Made a quick exit, changed our clothes and headed off to Kuala Perlis.
From Kuala Perlis, took the 2.30pm ferry to Langkawi. Actually this Langkawi thingy was totally unplanned, spur of the moment decision (trust me and hubby to come up with crazy ideas) Once we reached Langkawi, we rented a Wira to get us around Kuah town. I just wanted to shop in Kuah and bring mak around for shopping. The last time we came, we already went sight seeing, so this time is just for quick shopping.
We had 3 hours to shop. Dalam that short time tu sempat gak shopping. Trust a shopaholic to do that!!!
By 7pm, we had to rush back to the jetty as we had to catch the 7.30pm ferry back to Kuala Perlis. Kat immigration kena la bayar some tax, coz we stayed there less that 48 hours, but not much, just RM15 after some bargaining.
After Langkawi, we headed to Kangar for another Uncle's home, this time Pak We (my mom's eldest brother), chit chatted for a while and after dinner, made a mad dash for Acu's place pulak. By then, it was already 11pm. Minum-minum lagi, makan lagi...plus karaoke pulak at their house....
By the time we got back to the hotel, we were so exhausted...Zzzzzzzz..........
On Sunday, we went for breakfast at Acu's place...boy the nasi lemak was GREAT!!!! So sedap that we decided to tapau some home..
After saying our goodbyes to Acu and Che Monie and their very nice family, we begunh our journey home, but not before we stopped at Bukit Kayu Hitam. Nothing much here though, Wang Kelian would have been a nicer place to shop.
By that time, the car was already packed 12.15 started our journey home. My hubby drove at warp speed and we reached Ara Damansara at 4.30pm. Fuhh lega...penat giler!!!! Crazy tak? SO many place in So little time.... See u guys later. Enjoy!!!

Wedding of Rostam and Zinnia (Cumi & Zi)
|
|
This is the wedding that i told u guys last week, where my husband jadi the pengapit for the groom. See photos. He has been pengapit for no less than 5 weddings and this is the second one after our marriage, ingat dah tak laku dah (rupanya laku lagi!!!). I should start charging for this service, considering the fact that i had to look after miss menace the real - miss allysya
Everything went well despite the many tols that were set up by the bride's side. (A Johore custom, where the groom has to give a certain amount of money, as token before he could step into the house on to his pelamin.
The theme was blue and orange. I clearly was not following the color code, after all, i kan tetamu Oh well, enjoy the photos. Did not really enjoy the food though (probably because it was scorching hot!!!) , but the cupcakes were nice and cute.
Enjoy the photos!!

The Curve Outing
|
|
On Saturday- me, vic, mak, adik and my bro (the one leaving for US) had brunch at Paddington House of Pancake (PHOP).
The ambiance was nice and so was the food. Oh btw, we saw Cheryl Samad at a corner with her family.
By now, my bro has left for US. We'll only see him again at the end of the month. He'll be in Chicago and New York.
After bruch, we went window shopping and shopping. We saw this cute little shop selling stuff and tools to make your own scrap book. They had cute nifty crafty stuff, but the prices were quite steep. My who enjoys scrap booking, had a nice time there.
After that we went to Tribeca. I tried on so many of their kebaya and tops. And i finally bought the brown coloured one. Look at photo: the one with me and my miserable hair that day ( case of bas hair day!!).
Later we went to Binwani's, ohh so beautiful italian silk. I did not buy any though. But mom and Vic bought some linen for baju kurung.

The power of Beauty and Fashion magazines
|
|
My current beauty read is the March issue of Vogue with Jennifer Hudson on the cover. It's so thick this month that it's quite a load to carry it everywhere i go. Anna Wintour must have re-assessed her views on beautiful ladies. It's a very rare occasion that people, black people like Jennifer Hudson and not exactly - the body nor the face - gets to grace the cover of Vogue. Way to go Jennifer!!
My other fav magazines - my must reads every month includes In Style and Glam (this month with Sandra Bullock and Nanu on their covers- i must say that Nanu looks really pretty on the cover) Glam in my opinion, is the local beauty and fashion magazine to read!!!
I find that the more i read, the more things i have to add on my wishlist or wants-list. Halfway thru Vogue and i already find myself daydreaming of Stuart Weitzman bags. This month featured a lot of Stuart Weitzman advertorials I don't even need a full write up, the colorful advertorials are enough to make me drool and dream of them. (Talk about lack of self control!!! )
Plus not to forget the Furla - Virginie check out - http://www.furlausa.com that i have been wanting since last month. I just have to have that bag!!!!
Of late, i find that i have less desire to spend on clothes (which is good i guess???) and more on bags and shoes!! That's bad - bags and shoes cost more than clothes (since i don't buy couture clothes)
Oh well that's all the time i have for today folks. I'll share more stories when i have more time. This weekend is filled with wedding invites. So it'll be a busy weekend for me. Also a fattening weekend i should think!! Plus can u believe it, my husband has to be the "pengapit" for one of the weddings (whattt??) -

Guess Kids Jeans Dress for Allysya

Sunday is the family day for me, hubby and allysya. We had our usual breakfast in Kelana Jaya-Nasi Lemak Cikgu. We contemplated between Mid Valley and KLCC, and later settled for Mid Valley. 1 Utama was out of the question since i had gone there after work on Friday.
Actually, Mid Valley was never popular with us. Yes, they have nice shops, everything i need under one roof and it's not too far, but its always jammed. Sometimes, we'd be going round and round to find a parking spot, and i absolutely no patience for that. Even the jockey parking, at times will be full. Well it might be good for retailers, but shoppers such as me, don't have time to wait. (tak penyabor langsung!!!)
I stopped and had a look around at ZARA. Really their new clothes are simply gorgeous - tak boleh tahan, even shoes...banyak nya new shoes & so lovely pulak tu. If i had let nafsu take the better of me, goodness knows how many pieces i would have bought, luckily my hubby was around -takut punya pasal, i only shopped for a pair of shoes.
I bought a pair of black slingback with diamante applique'. In actual fact, i have the flat version of it. Exactly same design and everything Now i have both the flat and the heels.
Later, we went to Metrojaya - they are having this Pre-Stock Take Sale, went to the Benefir counter again and tried more of their products. Got the Lip Plump in Yoo Hoo colour. I was so tempted to buy everything. Accoding to the sales girl, Erra Fazira was just there to get some stuff.
My hubby also got himself a pair of shoes and some work clothes, they were such a bargain.
Later we went to MNG, La Senza, Guess etc etc countless shops. Got Allysya a lovely Guess denim dress at 30% off. She looked so cute in them.
Got tired and decided to go to Secret Recipe for a drink. Ohh the lovely looking Erra Fazira was also there.
Made a stop at Carrefour to get some stuff for home. It was well after 4pm before we got home. Pheww, what a tiring day

Amir's Birthday
|
|
Today is adik's 16th birthday. A big boy now, and a stubborn one i should say. For his birthday this year, emak decided to do a little - makan-makan, as we always call it at home.
The menu was rendang ayam, beef curry, kuah kacang, nasi impit & lodeh. I bought blackforest cake from secret recipe and my brother brought extra chocolate cakes from delicious by Ms. Read. Yummy... We had a wonderful dinner at Ara Damansara.

To avoid the Friday mad traffic yesterday, i went to 1 Utama after work. Also i wanted to see what GAP had on SALE since they sent me this mailer for additional discount of 10%, between 2-4 March 2007.
GAP was a bit dissappointing. Nothing new, all those things i have seen before. Very spartan looking clothes. I guess FJ Benjamin was having their annual sale or something, as all shops under the FJ Benjamin group i.e. GAP, Guess, Guess Kids, GAP Kids, La Senza and Raoul were on sale. Guess was also a dissappointment for me. Nothing to my liking!! All overpriced gaudy looking t-shirts and blouses.
But La Senza did not dissappoint me. I'm a frequent shopper there, so it was a joy to sell that most of the stuff were on 50% discount. I bought a pink pyjama bottom, a grey t-shirt and a set of pyjamas. See photos. I wanted to buy more, but i just couldn't find the size M. All were either S or L.
And the best thing of all, i only paid RM138 for all those. When the cashier told me the amount to pay, i told her-"betul ke u kira tu dik?", she went - "betul kak, murah kan?" I was given additional 10% discount for shopping yesterday. Yippee...i now have a vast collection of La Senza PJs. Not just La Senza, in fact i love buying PJs. I dont know why!! Probably coz they are so comfy....
Stopped by at Women's Secret, not much sale, but i did get my self another vanity case. I have different vanity cases for different purposes, and the one i keep at home, on my dressing table, was getting to be too small, what's with the recent Benefit purchases and all. This one was on 40% discount.
Since MNG and NAF NAF closed down at 1 Utama, it's been really troublesome to find clothes there. I'm only left with ZARA. And i wasn't in the mood yesterday to splurge on ZARA clothes coz i'm saving to buy all those things from US.
Oh, i made a stop at GAP Kids. They just opened!!! With 30 to 40% discount lagi. Got some t-shirts and shorts for Allysya. GAP, Guess and Osh Kosh are my fav shops for Allysya'a clothes in Malaysia.
Had my fav roti bakar at Kluang cafe. Saw Misha Omar and her sisters. And Waheeda the singer was in the same lift as me. But knowing me, i'm not a sucker for idolising all these artists - i just smiled.

Long distance shopping
|
|
Why do u see all these shoes u say?? That's because i'm getting my brother to shop them for me. And in order to do that, i have made a comprehensive list for him. U see he's going to US next week, for 2 weeks, knowing the kind soul he is, he informed the family about his trip, so that we can make our shopping list
Anyhow, he's going to Chicago and New York. Some of the shoes i have listed are to be purchased online at http://piperlime.com. I love their shoes, they carry sooo many brands. Also i have a listed a few items to buy from Coach. I'm buying the Coach Legacy signature shoulder bag & the Hamptons signature perforated large hobo. I'm going to go broke
On top of that i have even listed some stuff from Benefit Cosmetic and Bobbi Brown for him to buy. Omg, i got to finalise already, the list keeps on growing.... This list does not even include things for Allysya and my hubby. And he can't possibly carry sooo many shoes. For all i know he'll be buying some stuff from his fav, Kenneth Cole.
As u will see below, i have finalised my shopping list. It's gonna be troublesome for him to carry all my shoes, so i am sticking to the coach only. Also i have added another handbag to buy, by Cole Haan.
